A little over a year ago, we bought you an entirely new way to shop for your favorite hardware & home improvement items. The all-new www.cbsbahamas.com was introduced, and with it came thousands of items available for online shopping with the option of either easy next-day delivery or automated in-store pickup.
We were so proud to be the first Bahamian retailer offering a truly automated in-store pickup experience; debuting our state-of-the-art smart lockers that allowed for a virtually touch-free transaction. For customers using this pickup method, their average order pickup time (the time taken from when they park their car, to getting back into it with their items) was right around 1min and 46sec. What a quick and efficient way to shop!
But, we realized the system wasn't perfect. For our customers that ordered bulk items or products that were too big to fit into one of our standard locker cabinets - the pickup time was a few minutes slower. One of our associates had to grab the items from our oversized order area, and bring them out to the customer. We didn't like this added wait time; we thought it took away from the overall experience.
We decided we needed to fix this in order to better accommodate our customers purchasing larger goods. Everyone should be able to experience the same touch-free & automated experience, while minimizing the time they spend in-store. So, we invested in new oversized large-cabinet smart lockers!
These new larger cabinets are MASSIVE! They are perfect for easily storing orders that were traditionally too large to fit into our smaller lockers... Now, you can order things like long handle tools, metal stock, moldings, closet rods, outdoor power equipment, etc and still have the same super-fast & efficient pickup experience that you are used to!
