Celebrating Our Winners
Happy Father's Day!
Here at CBS Bahamas; we LOVE Father's Day - there's nothing better than celebrating dad with cold drinks & a flaming hot grill. That's why back in 2013 we introduced the 'CBS Bahamas Grill Master Competition.' This is our annual event where dads & their kids team up to throw down on the grill; showing off their skills when it comes to cooking over hot coals. The Grill Master competition is a day of cooking, family fun, and great food - it's something our team looks forward to every single year... Well, that is until COVID-19 came around. In 2020 we were forced to take a break, and a Grill Master went uncrowned. Fast forward to 2021, and COVID restrictions (unfortunately) kept the charcoal unlit again, but this year we had a new idea...
We knew we couldn't have the grill-out we dreamed of, but we didn't want to miss the opportunity to make Father's Day special for a few kids and their dads... We decided to forego the cooking part of our competition, and stick with the essay competition (which was always a pre-requisite to enter the Grill-Off). The idea was we'd invite kids aged 8-16 to tell us why their dad was their hero; and the 12 best essays would win a Weber grilling package!
We were thrilled to get so many entries, and so many amazing essays! After lots of reading and lots of laughs, we had our winners!

The above kids wrote truly amazing essays, telling us just why they view their father as their hero. I can't say that I had the pleasure of meeting all these amazing dads myself, but I can say that from what I read, they are all incredibly inspiring.
Each of the 12 winners took home a Weber prize pack (valued at $283) including: Weber Original Kettle 22 in Charcoal Grill, Weber Rapidfire Chimney Charcoal Starter, Weber 3 Piece Stainless Steel Tool Set, Royal Oak Classic Premium Charcoal, and Royal Oak Lighter Fluid.
